Voices from the Past: Manship Black History Program


The Mississippi Department of Archives and History, Manship House Museum will present - "Voices from the Past: Manship Black History Program." The program runs each Thursday and Friday, February 4th - 26th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Students grades 3 through 5 can experience the history of their African American ancestors through hands-on activities and a special tour of the Manship House Museum as they examine what the lives of house servants would have been like in the late nineteenth century. Program lasts approximately one hour and meets many of the Department of Education social studies curriculum competencies and benchmarks.
