Jobs For Mississippi's Graduates Program Grant

Hazlehurst, Miss. – The Jobs for Mississippi Graduates’ (JMG) program at Hazlehurst High School (HHS) received the Lowe’s Educational Foundation Grant (LCEF).
The $157,200 Lowe’s Educational Foundation grant was awarded to the Jobs for Mississippi Graduates’ program at Hazlehurst High School as part of a renovation/beautification project. Dr. Pearl McDonald, the JMG Job Specialist, states that JMG’s curriculum requires students to participate in community service. Students were required to describe areas of the school that needed improvement. They were also asked what contributions they were willing to make.
Mr. Joseph Reynolds and the staff of Lowe’s #2369 were very instrumental in acquiring the grant. Lowe’s #2369 adopted HHS and has made contributions to the school. Additionally, “Lowe’s Heroes” will assist in the renovation and work with HHS throughout the grant.
The Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant program is funded by the Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation.
